Gander’s cottage is a really lovely base for exploring beautiful West Dorset and the Jurassic coast. The cottage is well appointed, comfortable and very clean and is in a beautiful peaceful location yet close to the pretty town of Bridport, which has good amenities and lots of quirky little shops and cafes and pubs (and don’t miss The Electric Palace cinema!). Robin and Charlotte are delightful hosts – friendly and responsive. They provided great recommendations but left us to our own devices – just what we wanted. We appreciated the welcome pack of a loaf of bread, semi-skimmed milk, marmalade, a whole tin of good quality instant coffee and plenty of tea bags – and biscuits. We were also very pleasantly surprised to find shampoo, conditioner, shower wash and loo rolls! Only thing missing that I would have liked would have been a cafetiere.(It might be worth noting that the shower cubicle, though fine for most people, would have been a bit ‘snug’ if you were 6ft 4 and 18 stone!)

Lovely stay, although very quiet and peaceful, only a short drive to BridportPerfectly situated. Full marks to Charlotte & Robin.

The cottage is clean and bright and everything is in beautiful condition. The breakfast package was generous. the view from the garden is lovely and we enjoyed having our meals outside.

A great wee cottage. Charlotte & Robin were great hosts. We had everything we needed. It was a great location for exploring the Jurassic coast. We enjoyed our few days away & hope to return in the near future.

We spent 5 nights in Charlotte and Robin’s lovely cottage. It is a perfect base for visiting west Dorset. Our young children loved the garden. The cottage is well located just outside Bridport with easy parking. It is well equipped and pristine. Charlotte and Robin were very welcoming and helpful.

This place was an absolute gem! We stayed with a young family, and we felt super comfortable and welcome from the very start. The location was fantastic too, which made it easy to explore Dorset, the Jurassic coast and local restaurants.

The cottage is tastefully and functionally furnished and equipped with everything you need. It’s an ideal base for exploring the area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Gander’s Cottage. Everything was so clean and comfortable. Charlotte and Robin generously supplied items which made our stay so much easier, especially coming from overseas. It helped not to have to buy washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets and having tea, coffee, bread, marmalade, butter, eggs on hand was amazing upon our arrival. The bedding is very luxurious and we loved the extra decadence of robes and slippers.

The cottage is a perfect location to visit West Dorset and surrounding areas.
